What's Adventure Travel?

We design our adventure trips for travelers who want more from their vacation than staying in a luxury hotel. These interactive trips are for open-minded people who believe part of the vacation experience is understanding a culture, interacting with the local people, and coming home with a better understanding of a people and place that has touched their lives.

Just because the trip has educational value, doesn't mean it isn't fun, too!

• Bed & breakfast (or staying with a host family). Basically, staying in something more "genuine" than a luxury hotel.
• Experience authentic food of the country and its people. No eating at McDonalds here!
• Visit sites and the people, interspersed with low-impact hiking/walking/biking with an experienced tour guide.
• Embrace the history of a country, its culture, and its people.
• See some tourist sites. Hey, we like to have fun, too! It's a vacation, after all.

What's the Purpose of These Trips?

• Expand Our Minds: These trips broaden our worldview. They take us out of our own place and enable us to experience another culture from the inside. We can never understand a culture from strictly tourist point-of-view -- we need to have close interaction with the people and share/talk/eat with them. Only then will we will appreciate where we have been.
• Foster Friendships: Being a stranger in a strange land builds the unity of the entire travel group. We all benefit from the experience by helping each other, learning about the culture together (from using different currency to understanding the customs), creating friendships with people across the world, and sharing experiences. You just can't get that same comraderie from a Disneyland trip.
• Travel Safely: Traveling in a group enables us to venture into unfamiliar places with a peace of mind. There is "safety is numbers" and traveling in a group gives us the advantage of looking out for each other in foreign countries and encountering people using different languages.
